An anesthesiologist is a physician with an additional three to five years of
specialty training in anesthesiology. Anesthesiologists are involved in
intensive care, cardiac resuscitation, respiratory therapy and pain treatment.
The primary role of the anesthesiologist is to care for the patient before,
during and after surgery. Tejas’ Anesthesiologists provide care at many
San Antonio area hospitals and outpatient surgery centers, please click the
“Facilities” button on the left to visit those facilities. Our physicians
must be certified by the American Board of Anesthesiology. Recent graduates are
board eligible and must become board certified within two years of joining
Tejas. Every physician in Tejas Anesthesia, P.A. fulfills an annual
commitment to continuing medical education in order to provide the most current
and up-to-date care and participates in quality assurance programs in
cooperation with each hospital in which we practice. In addition Tejas has
a very active compliance and peer review process. |

Tejas Anesthesia, P.A. is a physician medical group consisting of 73
anesthesiologists. Tejas Physicians practice anesthesia in most of the
Facilities in San Antonio, Texas.

Tejas Anesthesia was formed in 1994. The current group structure has permitted
growth in ways previously unseen in San Antonio. Tejas has six divisions
which provide a broad range of anesthesia care, including neurologic, obstetric,
cardiovascular, orthopaedic, pediatric, pain management and general anesthesia. |

Some Tejas physicians concentrate on a particular sub-specialty, but most
maintain broad practices. |
